Hello,

I’m desperate because the engine crashes all the time for anything.
I tried with the renderer ‘DirectX’ and ‘OpenGL’ it’s the same.

Eg. I’m looking in the ‘SkyGraph Editor’ part, I’m just browsing categories and all of a sudden crash, no error message (one eg. in video).

Another example, I select a ‘game object’ (Widgets / Geometry shapes n Physic / Physics - Stack sphere) and directly the crash engine (see video).
If I put a wrong command in a script, the engine crashes ...

I have no problem with the other apps I use so the problem is not with my PC.

I have reinstalled Skyline Game Engine several times (uninstalled before) but it’s always the same.
I like this engine and I want to use it but currently impossible.

Hey aurasoft skyline

I’ve downloaded (Skyline Editor - Lite.) And it keeps crashing. When I made a 3 person and I want to root in the pc controller properties (pc offset) the program crashes (crash)

It just goes down sometimes when I do something else ... it’s the 1.0 version I have of (little edition)

I published an isoladed project.
I won’t know why, but Skyline gives many errors while there is only one scene with one material.
Running the game and press “new game” there is a yellow empty screen with frame rate display on top left ?

Assets always point to Skyline installation and not the project directory.
On game manager clicking ass scene it also points to Skyline installation and not the project directory.

Please do test unit :
- create new empty project
- Add empty scene with player camera and controls
- publish
- test published game menu and scene loading

It’s a little better; but there is still notable rotation issues with navmesh when the character start a new destination.
Rotation stabilizes after some second, but rotation should be controled and smooth.

A rotation speed should also be available as Navmesh parameter to control how fast a character would turn.

It can then cause unforseen things to happen like scene load issues.

We need skyline to not let you add any more actions of the same name to an entity and display a message box when you do.

Scene Upgrader gets stuck on scene load if any entities have 2 or more actions that are the same on an entity.
It causes a loop to happen due to array sizes going out of whack.

the simplest solution is not use multiple actions of the same name on an entity in the first place, however there is no error catching. See other ticket about this.

When importing models the bounding box seems to be out when importing from FBX..

The pivot point resets to where the bounding box is on the model (in other software)but the bounding box is way out.

Thanks to tattie he found the problem...
you have to untick the 2 animation check boxes when preparing the folder for skyline... (may be set to off as default) not all models have animations.

Exporting the game there is some error, while there is only one working scene specified as main scene in the game manager.

Why it is saying it doesn’t find the binary when the scene is working in the editor when testing ?

Nearly every time I try to search for something (e.g. “Game Objects”) I get the response that the word(s) are too common!

Ideally, something like the Google Search where you can use double quotes or + to indicate that it must search for the exact phrase, or both words etc.

This would be a real help, not only to me, but also to new users.

trying to replicate Karma’s error’s with changing colours on presets and well I get a strange one.

Placed a GO object in the scene, changed the textures and saved as preset.
deleted the object from the scene and placed the same GO object in the scene.
RMB material editor when object is selected and get no object selected error message.

Seems to have sorted itself out and is working again.. hmm

When dropping some trees on the default “new” scene and the FPS player and running the end game exporter it gives a message about saving your scene first even though I just saved it.

When its done compiling the end game it gives loads of warnings about textures missing even though they are not included in the created scene..

These include:
mp2_debris
mp2_smoke
T_weapons
Scar_01 and 02
MarbleBlue2

all could not be found in the resource group(s)

Also when hunting for errors I found in the compiled game \Bin\Win64 SkylineEXE.log the following:

When skyline is uninstalled, the entire asset library is removed which means if any work is saved there, then it is potentially going to be removed. THIS is very bad if making a large project in the asset library. Although it is advisable to make a project external from the install location if you are making a large game to save any pain or use a second library setup in the editor settings.

We have a new plan which should resolve this. which is:

* Asset library that ships with the install will be turned into the System library. This way, we can clear it out and replace with newer files.
* Once we have the system library, then the user library will be the Asset library, which can be placed anywhere outside of the installation directory and where the DLC and any custom user work can be placed.

This has multiple advantages:
1) A constant resource list can be used for the user library which means folders don’t need to be rescanned every time skyline is installed.
2) If and when skyline is uninstalled, only the system library will be removed leaving all files from user side intact.
3) The asset library will be able to be placed anywhere on any HDD with setup instructions inside the editor itself.
4) By default, the asset library can be stored and placed into user documents.

When i try to play those on script, only the “WALK” animation works.

-Add external script from ZIP to character
-Change script variableto : ANIMATION = “WALK”
-Play mode in editor, it works the character “walk” animation is playing.

Some hack seems to work , but i couldn’t get the hack work, a bug fix having navmesh working as intended would be better.
